Privacy Policy

Lapse is a personal multi-sport training coach. This policy explains what data Lapse handles, why, and who it is (and is not) shared with. We keep it short because the model is simple: your training data exists to coach you, and nothing else.

What we store

• Profile you enter — name, physiological metrics (e.g. max/resting heart rate, threshold pace), and any notes you give the coach.
• Training activities — runs, swims, and other sessions you import from Strava or upload as files (GPX/FIT/TCX/Apple Health export).
• Health & recovery metrics — if you connect Apple Health, Lapse reads heart-rate variability, resting heart rate, and sleep duration. This is read-only; Lapse never writes to Apple Health.
• Coach conversations — the messages you exchange with the AI coach, and long-term facts you ask it to remember.

Where it lives

Your data is stored on your own Lapse server instance in a local database. It is not pooled with other users and is not sold, rented, or used for advertising. There is no cross-app tracking.

Third parties we send data to

• AI coach provider (OpenRouter and the model it routes to). To answer you, Lapse sends the coach your training context (profile, recent activities, recovery signals, plan) and your messages. Only what is needed to generate a reply is sent. It is not used to identify you.
• Strava — only if you connect it, and only to import your activities via OAuth. You can disconnect at any time in Settings.

Apple Health data is used solely on your instance to compute your readiness and coaching, and is never shared with these third parties beyond the aggregated training context described above.

Your control

• Disconnect Strava or revoke Apple Health access at any time (Apple Health: Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → Lapse).
• Delete individual activities, coach threads, and pinned memories in-app.
• Request full deletion of your data by contacting us (below); because data lives on your instance, deleting the instance removes everything.

Children

Lapse is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.
